Story: Ghana,Trophy Drought Continues; Supporters continue to be Thirsty

Ghana once again missed a golden opportunity to break their 30-year old jinx of winning the glamorous African Cup of Nations Trophy.

With Asamoah Gyan missing an early golden penalty kick ; John Mensah stopping play due to his persistent leg injury; and Derek Boateng facing the dangerous red card of the referee; the Copper bullets of Zambia indeed showed no mercy, but shot dead the ‘stationed’ black stars of Ghana in the heart to reach the finals of the AFCON 2012.

Ghana would now have to at least win a third place position to console the wounded supporters of Ghana. On the lighter side, I wonder if they would be allowed to help commission the newly constructed major roads in Ghana as promised by Hon. Okudzeto at the meet the press series on Tuesday in Accra.

Update: Ghana never had the consolation from Mali’s game; Black stars lost to Mali by 2 goals to nil.
